Atlanta Braves beat out the Cardinals 6-3!

July 6, 2006 at 2:20 pm (Atlanta Braves, St. Louis Cardinals, chris carpenter)

This years’ fourth of July brought an end to the Atlanta Braves 7 game losing streak.  It was quite a rewarding holiday if you are a Braves fanInteresting News: The Cardinals have not lost on July 4 since 1999. The last time the Cardinals had such a long road losing streak, they ended an eight-game skid with a win on July 4, 2001.  Juan Encarnacion proved to be the Braves’ saving grace as he hit a 2-run homer to secure the 6-3 lead.  Juan Encarnacion had season-long seven-game hitting streak from 7/23-30, batting .480 (12-for-25) with two home runs and eight RBI…had three six-game hit streaks: 4/5-10 (.308, 7-for-23, 2 HR, 8 RBI), 6/2-8 (.409, 9-for-22, HR, 3 RBI) and 9/4-9 (.308, 8-for-26, 2 RBI) a recorded season-high four hits and had three RBI on 7/2 at NYM.  I am so excited about this upcoming season that I am rushing out to get a new Juan Encarnacion Atlanta Braves jerseys and Altanta Braves hats.  What a great way to spend an all-american past-time on and all-american Holiday.  Happy Fourth of July.
